Non-Bank Financing for New and Established Businesses

There are a number of non-bank organizations in Chattanooga that will work with start-ups. While the organizations listed in this section work with start-ups, most prefer established businesses because there is a track record to examine with regard to both market acceptance and financial performance. In addition, some seek acquisitions and leveraged buy-out situations or minority buy-outs of formerly majority owned firms. Some may take a broader range of collateral and loan a higher percentage of that on collateral than most banks.

Additionally, two programs, one national and one local, have increased access to capital for budding or small entrepreneurs of whatever background. This means that smaller loans are available, enabling funding for the very small entrepreneur.
