Development Council Co-Chairs

      DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL CO-CHAIRS

The Chattanooga CAN DO Development Council Co-Chairs are business leaders dedicated to increasing prosperity and improving quality of life in the Chattanooga region. When our elected officials and business leaders collaborate and take visible roles in recruiting new business and industry, we’re telling companies around the world that our community has the will to work together and aggressively support the success of any job creation investments they may choose to make here.

Having top businesspeople involved in recruitment activities results in more focused and effective community marketing because CEO-to-CEO calls are answered and acted upon. The officers, directors and professional staff of the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce and the Chattanooga Chamber Foundation thank the committed men and women who have agreed to serve on the Chattanooga CAN DO Development Council for investing their time and financial support in an effort designed to benefit all of the people in our region. Their active engagement and support is the first critical step toward continuing and accelerating economic growth in the Chattanooga area.

"In my mind, job creation is one of the most important priorities for our community. That’s why I have personally worked with the Chamber in supporting major job announcements by T-Mobile, Wrigley, McKee, U.S. Xpress, and nearly 40 other companies since 2003."

-- Claude Ramsey

"I whole-heartedly endorse The Chamber’s Chattanooga CAN DO campaign. Over the last three years, the Chamber has proven its effectiveness in implementing a comprehensive job creation strategy."

-- Ron Littlefield

QUOTES

"Chattanooga CAN DO describes public
visions actualized through public-private
partnerships. Unlike the vision for our
waterfront, our vision for education will
have to be rebuilt over and over again.
The 21st Century Waterfront was completed
in three years, but education must always
 be a work in progress."

-- Tom Edd Wilson

"Partnerships among institutions of higher
education are essential to address the
challenges of adapting to new economic
realities. I am pleased to join with
President Catanzaro to provide new
opportunities for our students and their
communities to succeed."

-- Dr. Roger Brown

"The BlueCross project is
possible because of the cando
attitude of Chattanooga’s
community leaders and the area’s
vibrant climate for growth."

-- Vicky Gregg

"Building our headquarters in
Hamilton County has proven
an excellent choice. We’ve had
great support from Hamilton
County, the City of Chattanooga,
and the Chattanooga Chamber."

-- Max Fuller
